In late September, the annual "Ambassador's Cup 2024" took place at the Foxhills Golf and Leisure Club in Surrey, where participants were honoured for their achievements in both sports and business. Organized for the seventeenth year by the Lithuanian Chamber of Commerce in the United Kingdom (LCCUK) and the Lithuanian Embassy in London, the event saw a record-breaking turnout of golf and tennis enthusiasts, entrepreneurs, diplomats, and guests from Lithuania and the UK.

Golf Tournament Highlights
This year’s "Ambassador's Cup" golf tournament set a new milestone, with over 30 players - an all-time high - competing for top honours. Olegas Gedrimas emerged as the champion, mastering the course’s challenges to claim first place and the main trophy. Andrius Sidlauskas secured second place, while Povilas Ramanauskas rounded out the top three, each showcasing remarkable skill and determination.
Jerome Giullem earned special recognition for delivering the longest shot of the tournament, taking home the "Longest Drive" award. Julius Vizgirdas claimed victory in the "Nearest to the Pin" competition.
Tennis Tournament Success
The tennis competition, which continues to grow in popularity, was equally exciting. Mindaugas Jakas took first place, reinforcing his reputation as one of the tournament’s strongest competitors. Jura Gedrimas earned a well-fought second place, with Dalius Eismontas finishing third. The tennis matches proved that this tournament is not just about rivalry but also about strengthening community bonds.
Honouring Business Excellence
In addition to the sporting triumphs, the event paid tribute to outstanding achievements in business. LCCUK President Laura Budriene and her company Verslo ABC were recognized for their exceptional contribution to organizing high-impact business meetings, events, and training sessions in Lithuania and the UK.
Aiste Callaghan was honoured for her entrepreneurial success, having launched the e-commerce store My Family Shop, and for her dedication to expanding the "Matilda" Lithuanian School in the Newbury area, offering valuable support to Lithuanian families in the UK.
Tadas Kerbedis, Flair Online founder, received an award for his active role in the LCCUK team, particularly for organizing a high-profile business event in collaboration with Lithuania’s Minister of Economy and Innovation, Ausrine Armonaite, and for his ongoing contributions to the business community.
Justinas Olechna, head of Instant Mortgage Solutions, was celebrated for his leadership of a team of 15 brokers who, over the past year, processed mortgages totalling over £100 million. His company was also recognized for its dedication to client service, earning the title of the most client-focused brokerage in Eastern England.
This year’s tournament also marked a significant milestone for Ecohardwood (Ecowood Group), a leading oak product manufacturer, as the company celebrated 12 years of successful operations in England. Their oak flooring, doors, and parquet have become synonymous with top-quality craftsmanship, featuring in prestigious projects across the UK and Europe. The company’s success exemplifies the impact Lithuanian businesses can have on the global stage.
A Night to Remember: Gala Awards Dinner
The event culminated in a grand gala dinner hosted by the charismatic Lithuanian actor Eimutis Kvosciauskas. Attendees were treated to an evening of live music, with performances by talented pianist Yaroslav Oliinyk and saxophonist Alex Smirnof, creating a sophisticated and festive atmosphere.
LCCUK President Laura Budriene remarked that the "Ambassador's Cup" is more than just a sporting event; it celebrates unity, bringing together Lithuanian and UK entrepreneurs, sports enthusiasts, and those seeking inspiration and new opportunities.
